"We have a hard time resisting the heaven puns when describing this creation, which runs blessedly afoul of any diet you might be suffering through. Angels, an Upper East Side lark decorated with ceramic cherubs and other tchotchkes, serves several types of bread, but none is better than these doughy sesame loaves. They're split open lengthwise, slathered with butter and fresh garlic, toasted until the crust is dark and crunchy, and then set afloat in a platter of tangy Gorgonzola cream sauce. A $3.50 half loaf supposedly feeds two but could satisfy six with its size and richness; the $6 full loaf is just plain wrong. If you crave that much blue cheese, the chef will happily spoon his sauce over some creamy polenta. Dare we say it, the stuff's divine."—JG
